Location of Casualty Vicinity of Meadfoot Beach

Service Launched to the fishing vessel 'Jacqueline Ann' with an injured fisherman onboard who required

medical attention. ALB paramedics stabilised him whilst they made way to Torquay Harbour for

onward transmission by ambulance to Torbay Hospital.

Service Launched to the yacht 'Charlie Bravo' suffering an engine failure and overwhelmed by a hail

storm and squall just outside Brixham Harbour. Yacht returned under tow to the station.

Location of Casualty Fishcombe Point, Brixham

Service Both lifeboats tasked to the 30ft yacht Dauphine with four people on board following a May Day

call. The yacht apparently came into contact with rocks and lost all power at Fishcombe Point.

With the Northerly wind she was in danger of grounding. Passenger vessel Brixham Belle III

established a tow and held the yacht off pending arrival of the lifeboats. Yacht checked for hull

damage and water ingress before being towed to her mooring in Brixham Marina. No injuries

sustained.

Service Launched following a Police request to search for a missing person on a beach surrounded by

cliffs - somewhere between St Mary's Bay and Hopes Nose.

Person located at the Grovenor Hotel, Torquay at 18:17 - Search terminated.

Service Launched to a report of Red Flare(s) in the general area of the location given - on a line between

Berry Head and Budleigh Salterton. Torbay searching from Berry Head, Exmouth running from

Budleigh Salerton. Nothing found - search terminated.

Service Launched in support of a Police operation to locate a suicidal female reported in the vicinity of

Berry Head. Lady located in a very dangerous position. Following a long and successful

negotiation the lady was recovered to Police custody with the assistance of HM Coastguard cliff

teams

Additional Notes ALB stood by for the duration of the negotiation which was on a cliff edge.

Service Launched in support of Police and Coastguard negotiating with a suicidal lady on the cliffs at

Meadfoot. ALB tasked to provide searchlight if required.

Additional Notes Successful negotiation with the lady who was recovered by the shore team at 02:35

Service Launched to the day fishing vessel 'Lisa K' taking water into the engine space - two persons on

board. Fishing vessel 'Atlantis II' stood by until lifeboat arrived. All electrical power lost. Two

Lifeboat crew transferred - engine room pumped out and vessel returned under tow to Brixham.

Additional Notes Approx one mile SSE of the Orestone

Location of Casualty Initial 49 52.5N 003 12.7W  33 miles SSE Berry Head

Service A 'Pan Pan' was issued for the vessel 'Ice Prince' with twenty persons on board and suffering a

severe shift of her cargo. The resulting 25 degree list to port in heavy sea conditions put the

ship at risk. Salcombe and Torbay lifeboats and Warship Cumberland tasked together with

cargo ships on passage nearby and Helo IJ from Portland. The list increased to forty degrees.

Twelve, including a crew man with a broken leg were air lifted to Portland. The remaining eight

crew were evacuated in extremely difficult conditions by Torbay Lifeboat and returned to

Brixham. The vessel was left for a French Tug to resolve what should be done.
