Location of Casualty 9.5 nmiles East of Berry Head

Service Yacht Eloise with three people aboard suffered engine failure. Pan Pan

resulted in assistance from Lifeboat 14-29 on passage from Poole to

Plymouth. Due to passage deadlines Torbay assistance requested.

Eloise returned under tow to Brixham.

Additional Notes Yacht Eloise used mobile phone for communication. Lifeboats do not have

mobile phones as part of the communication kit.

River Dart entrance and unable to anchor. All Weather Boat tasked and

Service Angling vessel 'Pioneer' - 31 ft Mitchel lost power - fouled prop or fuel

blockage. No response to Pan Pan issued at 17:38. Vessel returned

under tow to Brixham.

Service Yacht 'Taboo' lost all electrics and ability to communicate. One person on board.

Lost steerage and making no headway. No response to Pan Pan other than

fishing vessel Lloyd Tyler able to confirm all on board OK

Additional Notes This could be a long haul! Salcombe lifeboat launched at 16:00 to MayDay - boat sinking off

Start Point during this shout. Portland Helicopter lifted Torbay Pump to assist Salcombe save 'Bristol King'

Location of Casualty Savage Hole, Roundham Head

Service Yacht 'Do-Little' lost ability to manoeuvre and was blown towards Savage Hole.

Lifeboat launched to assist 'Oscar 4' the Torbay Council beach patrol boat which

got a line on board and prevented her from running onto the rocks.

Additional Notes Passengers and yacht returned by Lifeboat to Paignton Harbour NB Mobile

phone used by Yacht.

Service Yacht 'Societie Generale' has been out of contact for a number of hours. Yacht

is 9.2 metres and multicoloured. Position automatically transmitted to Race

Control in France. Girlfriend extremely worried. Lifeboat tasked to check.

Additional Notes Appears to be making about 3.7 knots. 00:48hrs - Yachtsman heading for Portsmouth.

Service Two small vessels appeared to be in difficulty off Meadfoot beach with

people waving for assistance.

ILB found capsized Kyak in difficulty and under tow by a small dingy

also in difficulty. ILB sorted

Service Motor vessel Stardust out of Exmouth suffered engine failure near

Ansteys Cove, Babbacombe. Oscar 4 dispatched but vessel size and

sea conditions required additional assistance. AWB tasked and towed

to Torquay harbour

Additional Notes Anchor dragged in NE wind. They should enjoy Torquay fireworks this

evening!

Service Coastguard Observed a 'Spoken Mayday' and issued a Pan Pan seeking

information. Bearing of Mayday was 018 deg from the Berry Head receiver

creating a line towards Exmouth. AWB tasked to do a creeping line search.

Nothing found

Additional Notes Exmouth lifeboat tasked on a reciprocal bearing and CG Helicopter over flew

area.

Service Person suffered suspect heart attack on vessel moored in the River Dart near

Noss Marina. AWB tasked to collect paramedic crew from Kingswear, go

to casualty and return them to Kingswear.

Additional Notes Casualty stabalised then taken by Ambulance to Torbay Hospital

Location of Casualty 2 miles East of Cod Rock TBC

Service 20ft Dory with engine failure- 3 adults and 1 child on board - not

sure of their position - but taken to be between Berry Head and

Dartmouth Mew Stone. Red Flare used - vessel taken in tow to Kingswear

Additional Notes Vessel did not have Maritime VHF - mobile phone used. Probably had a

very good view of Dartmouth fireworks!
