Location of Casualty 50 20.4N 003 27W

Service Launched to a single handed yachtsman with a shoulder injury. Yachtsman

finding it difficult to navigate with the pain of a dislocated shoulder. Crew

Paramedic relieved pain and yacht taken in tow to Brixham. Yachtsman taken

to Hospital by ambulance.

Additional Notes Position approximately 5 miles East River Dart Entrance

Location of Casualty Oddicombe, Torquay

Service Launched to check safety of a 31ft vessel apparently at anchor but drifting into

shore. Not known if any one on board. Tender found adrift and washed up on

Oddicombe Beach.

Location of Casualty Initially Lower Ferry slipway, Kingswear

Service Launched to assist police with a 'man in the water' at Kingswear. Man last

seen swimming out into the river. AWB, Coastguard teams, Harbour authority

and Helo WB169 all tasked to search. No one found and search terminated at

05:45.

Additional Notes Y Boat deployed to search close inshore and pontoon moorings

Location of Casualty Froward Point area

Service Small speedboat observed by person walking the SW Coast Path to be in

difficulty in a small cove near Froward Point, AWB tasked and found

speedboat swamped and engine failed. Swell would have made it unlikely they

would have escaped, Y boat deployed and all recovered to the AWB. Two

adults and one child taken to Dartmouth much relieved,

Location of Casualty Approx 3/4 mile from Mewstone and Dart Entrance

Service Launched to a small speedboat reported to be in difficulty off Blackpool Sands

near Dartmouth. Red Flares fired and position identified from shore - by the time

the lifeboat arrived the speedboat was about 3/4 mile from shore and the

Mewstone. Towed to Dartmouth Castle were boat transferred to DHNA launch.

Service 35ft Motor Yacht 'Cas Las' broke down near St Marys Bay and requested

assistance. She dropped anchor. AWB tasked to return her to Brixham. Towed

Search continued until shortly after 01:00.

Additional Notes Sea was calm - moon was bright - many reflections on the water and many

fishing nets with their markers?

Service Launched to a Cutter rigged ketch bound for Dartmouth that had two failed

engines and was becalmed 12 miles east of River Dart entrance.

No one at risk however AWB launched to bring them to Brixham under tow

there being no space at Dartmouth.

Service The 34 ft vessel 'Sweet Charity' ran out of fuel approx 10 miles SE of Berry

Service Small craft reported to be in difficulty off Oddicombe, Torquay. Attempt to hold

position with anchor in force 6/7 North Easterly winds 20 yards from shore

and shipping water. Tow established at 11:21 and vessel taken to Torquay

harbour in 'foul' weather conditions.

Additional Notes Report received from person on coast via mobile phone.

Service Beam trawler 'Carina' suffered a severley fouled propeller after one beam

trawl caught on a wreck. She was unable to make way and the AWB was

tasked. 'Carina' towed back to Brixham.
