ILB and ALB both launched to assist in the recovery of a cliff faller in the Beacon Cove area.

Both boats worked with Paramedics and Coastguard team to stabilise and recover the

injured person to an awaiting ambulance on Torquay Harbourside.

Launched to join search for possible swimmer apparently in difficulty. Swimmer made it

ashore OK unobserved and having seen the extensive search phoned in to check and report

he was OK. Confirmed this was the swimmer - search stood down at 15:29.

Service

Torbay Lifeboat Week - ALB on station for the start of the annual Brixham Yacht Club RNLI

Race. Shortly before the start the ALB was tasked to a yacht with an injured lady onboard.

Initially the yacht was 6 miles ESE of Berry Head. Crew put aboard and stabilised the

casualty and escorted the yacht back to Torquay to an awaiting ambulance.

Launched to a dive RIB with engine problems. Some confusion over boat and position.

Other vessels searched and one located her and took in tow. ALB took over tow and returned

Trawler Race Day - ALB at sea providing safety cover. The Trawler 'Korenbloem' reported a

Man Overboard. He was immediately recovered by a nearby RIB - ILB responded and the

casualty was placed in the ILB before being transferred to the ALB. Casualty assessed and OK

and after a short while transferred back to the beam trawler 'Korenbloem'

Launched to join a search with Salcombe ALB and two yachts following the sighting of two

red distress (parachute) flares South of Start Point. Rescue Helicopter 193 also joined the

search. Search continued until shortly after dawn - nothing found to be in trouble.

Both lifeboats launched following a report that a small fishing boat with one person on

board had crashed into the rocks at Churston Point. The person on board was thrown into the

sea and suffered some injuries on the rocks. Ambulance crews also attended. Casualty taken

to hospital for checks.

Service

The 54 ft yacht 'Castaway' was apparently anchored off Scabbacoombe. She went aground

on the beach around 02:00 and called HM Coastguard. ALB and Coastguard teams went to

their assistance but the tide dropped leaving her high and dry on the beach. The occupants

were safe. ALB returned to station.

An 8 metre yacht lost all power and was unable to sail or communicate via VHF Radio but

had a mobile phone. Other vessels responded to Pan Pan issued by HM Coastguard but

were unable to locate the vessel. Thought to be a mile or so to the east of Berry Head. ALB

tasked to locate the vessel - found to be six miles SSE of Berry Head. Returned under tow to Brixham.

was taken in tow towards Brixham by Salcombe lifeboat some 9 miles SE of Prawle Point.

A Crew member aboard the MOD vessel Sea Horse suffered a severe injury whilst alongside

the harbour wall in Brixham. ALB launched to assist in a difficult evacuation to waiting

ambulance staff before transport to Torbay Hospital.

1.5 miles SSE Haldon Pier

Service

A small speedboat suffered engine failure and was unable to identify their position.

Direction Finding equipment placed them towards the North of Brixham Breakwater. ALB

launched to their assistance and located them. Taken under tow towards Torquay. Tow

dropped at 09:40 in favour of a fishing vessel in difficulty at Berry Head. Y Boat launched

and took speed boat into Torquay Harbour.
