Following a
report from a local fishing boat that one of the crew had collapsed the AWB

tasked. Navy Medics in a RIB reached the fishing vessel shortly before the

AWB. Parameds
from both crews provided assistance. The casualty was placed in a stretcher
|

and transferred
to the AWB for a Helo lift to Torbay Hospital. Sea conditions were perfect
for the |

returned to exercise a report was received of an upturned vessel near the
Cod |

Rocks south of
Berry Head. AWB tasked to investigate and located an inflatable yacht tender
|
|
capsized in
heavy seas. Towing eye broken. After search assumed tender had broken away
|
|
during a tow.

search for a wind surfer who apparently went missing whilst out with another

13:30. The first report came from the companion wind surfer when he got

ashore. The
search involved all SAR Assets in the area. The wind was generally SW7
Gusting 9 |

reducing surface
visibility. His surf board was found blowing out of Torbay unoccupied. He
was |
|
located at 17:01
following a sighting from the shore approximately half a mile from shore
near |
|
Holicombe having
swum a considerable distance back towards shore. He was exhausted and
|

support of a difficult cliff rescue operation of two people stuck on the
cliff face at |
|
Daddy Hole, The
two anglers became trapped approximately 30 ft above the quarry floor on the
|
|
seaward side of
a wall on the cliff in deteriorating weather conditions. The rescue by helo
R169 |
|
was completed
shortly after 01:00, The ALB provided flood lighting and the ILB standing by
in |
|
case of a fall.
The cliff teams had to deploy approx 180 ft down the cliff to secure the
casualties. |

ALB released
after the cliff team had recovered all their gear at 01:43. A big job! |

following a report to HM Coastguard from Dartmouth Police that a 16ft open
boat with |

nine youths on
board was seen putting to sea. They were apparently intending to make way to
|
|
Brixham and were
last seen leaving the River Dart. ALB tasked to check on their safety and
|
|
escort them to
shore. Boat located near Sharkham Point and returned with all safe to
Brixham. |
|
They were met by
Coastguards and Police. |

commenced an exercise when she was tasked to a 40 ft Angling Vessel out of |

Torquay with 10
people on board. He had suffered a split fuel line and lost power. Pan Pan
|
|
brought no
suitable response. AWB returned her under tow and arrived at Torquay 21:00
hrs. |
