Service The fishing vessel 'Amy-R' suffered a fouled propeller some 20 miles East of Berry Head. Pan

Pan Broadcast produced no suitable assistance. ALB tasked to return her under tow to Brixham.

Additional Notes A long tow in fairly uncomfortable conditions - wind SSW in Force 5/7 conditions

Location of Berry Head Quarry

Service Several people reported in the water at Seven Quarries, Actually Berry Head Quarry and one

person in difficulty being rescued by others to a rock ledge. ALB tasked and stood by providing

light whilst HM Coastguard cliff team recovered him.

Additional Notes Low water at 02:08 - Person apparently jumped from a building into the sea receiving fatal

injuries.

Service Both lifeboats launched on a missing person search Search concentrated on the coastline

from the Brixham Breakwater to Sharkham Point. Nothing found.

Service ALB launched on a PR trip and was requested to carry out a sweep of the coastline for a

missing person (See ILB Shout No: 32) Once ILB had located the missing person the ALB

returned to the planned PR trip.

Service Launched to a 36ft yacht becalmed in fog and whose engine was not delivering any power -

thought to be a fouled propeller. Yacht taken in tow and returned to Brixham.

Location of Dartmouth Mewstone

Service At request of the Police both lifeboats launched on a missing person search in the vicinity of the

Dartmouth Mewstone. Whilst on passage to the Mewstone the missing person was located in a

local hospital. Search stood down.

Location of 0.5 miles off Stoke Flemming

Service Launched to a yacht thought to be in difficulty near Stoke Flemming (South of Dartmouth). ALB

stood down shortly after launch as HM Coastguard Coast team confirmed all OK.

Location of One mile North of Brixham Breakwater.

Service ALB re-tasked to the yacht 'Skip Jack' who was in difficulty with his fore sail and engine

problems was unable to make safe headway. ALB located yacht and put crew aboard to help

sort out the sail. That was recovered OK however the yacht then sprung a serious leak around

the propeller shaft and was taken in tow to Kings Quay, Brixham Harbour to ground on the falling

tide..

Location of 0.5 mile North of Brixham Breakwater.

Service Launched to the yacht 'Lady Elizabeth' with one person on board reporting difficulties. However

as the ALB launched 'Lady Elizabeth' reported all OK and making passage to Torquay. ALB

immediately re tasked to the yacht 'Skip Jack' (See ALB Shout 24).

Additional Notes NW F5/7 winds all day.

Location of North End Preston Beach.

Service Yacht 'Pamela' was observed behaving erratically from early this morning and was checked out

by a passing fishing vessel. Later '999' calls were received by HM Coastguard resulting in a

decision to launch the ALB. Yacht was found at anchor at the north end of Preston Beach near

the surf line and a large rock outcrop. ALB recovered the yacht to Torquay Harbour.

Additional Notes Between midnight and 07:00 the wind built to East F6 around the time the yacht set sail. Wind

decayed to W F2 at time of recovery.

Location of 50 22.00N 003 28.00W   Approx 2 miles SE of Berry Head

Service ALB launched following receipt of a DSC initiated May Day. Vessel eventually responded to May

Day relay calls and reported all was OK on board. Apparently training was taking place during

passage to the River Dart. ALB stood down shortly after leaving the moorings.

Additional Notes Vessel to be met at Kingswear for advice.

Location of 50 04.43N 003 25.4W 20 miles S of Berry Head

Service Fishing vessel Barant Zea suffered engine failure and was taken in tow by fishing vessel

Margaret of Ladram. The tow parted and fouled the Margaret of Ladram's propeller. Fishing

vessel Lloyd Tyler took her in tow and Torbay ALB launched to the assistance of Barant Zea. She

managed to get her engine running on occasions but was returned under tow into Torbay by

the ALB and was put alongside around 02:35 hrs.
