Location of Casualty Dartmouth Castle to Town Quay

Service Dartmouth Police requested assistance in locating a young lady

reportedly in a suicidal state last seen heading towards the River Dart.

Search carried out and 'Y' boat being deployed when she was found

safe and well at 20:45 approx.

Additional Notes Police and Coastguard teams also deployed

Location of Casualty Initially 50 33N 002 49W - 29 miles ENE Brixham

Service Fisherman taken ill on Brixham trawler BM51 some 30 miles out to sea.

Medical evacuation initiated and achieved successfully at approx

03:25 hrs by Rescue 169 (Chivenor) with Torbay lifeboat standing by.

Casualty landed at Torbay Hospital by 03:50

Additional Notes Trawler steamed towards Brixham - The Lifeboat and Helicopter both

arrived on scene at 03:20.

Location of Casualty 50 09.55N 003 23.34W 14 mile SSE Berry Head

Service Beam Trawler suffered engine failure in horrendous weather conditions

with fishing gear down. Severe Gale Force 9 Easterly winds about 10

miles East of Start Point. Vessel accompanied and towed to Plymouth.

Breakfast provided by Plymouth at 11:00hrs! Thankyou

Additional Notes Salcombe Lifeboat launched and came to Dartmouth to provide extended

cover to Torbay patch. Plymouth launched to assist fishing vessels

remove fishing gear and enter Plymouth. - 20 hours away from the moorings -

towing at 1 - 2 knots in heavy seas for 12 hours. A very nice letter was received from the

Owners and Skipper expressing their thanks.

Location of Casualty 50 26N 002 56W 20 miles East of Berry Head

Service 30 ft Princess Motor Cruiser with five people on board lost power on

passage across Lyme Bay. Postion not known initially - visibility poor

in Force 4/5 North Easterly winds.

A passing tug gave position advice.

Additional Notes Vessel returned to Brixham under a difficult tow - late Sunday lunch for

the Crew!

Service 34ft Bermudan Sloop 'Five Farthings' unable to make headway in area close to

Deep Draught shipping and pilot activity. No nav lights or power. Launch for

safety recovery of two crew and vessel.

Additional Notes Pilot boats involved in pilotage in area of vessel in difficulty.

Service Single Red Flare discharge observed from Exmouth believed to be in the vicinity

of Hopes Nose. Lifeboat search with radar, spotlight and night vision gear.

Nothing found - Lifeboat returning via coast line 20:28

Pan Pan Cancelled 20:49

Additional Notes Coast Guard teams searching coastline to Roundham Head. Nothing found.
