fisherman suffered a broken arm whilst fishing some 14 miles East of Berry

with a paramedic
on board was launched to stabilise and assess the injury. Fisherman

transferred to Torquay Harbour and an awaiting ambulance. His crew returned

A member of the
public observed what appeared to be three people in the sea near Thatcher
|
|
Rock and called
HM Coastguard. The ALB was immediately tasked. Three teenagers were
|
|
recovered from
the sea after their Canadian style canoe had been swamped in Force 5/6 North
|
|
Easterly winds.
They had been in the sea for around thirty five minutes and were
hypothermic. |

Recovered to the
ALB and transferred to awaiting ambulances at Torquay Harbour and then
to |
|
Torbay Hospital
- they were very lucky to have been observed by a sharp eyed member of the
|
|

Run the crew observed fishing equipment on Berry Head both at the shore line

and on the
access route down the cliff. Two crew put ashore to investigate - found a
pack with |

personal
belongings. Shortly afterwards a flask of coffee was found floating off the
Head. Full |

initiated. ILB tasked as well as the Cliff Rescue Teams and Rescue
Helicopter 106. The |
|
Police visited
the address identified in the personal belongings. Fisherman found at home!
