Service Launched to assist HM Coastguard with coastline search for a missing person

between Fishcombe and Elberry Cove (Seven Quarries). 07:48 Person located

Location of Casualty Between Elberry and Torre Abbey

Service Both boats launched to assist in a wide ranging search involving all services

for a missing person. Missing person located inland at 21:50. Search stood

down.

Service A 31 ft fishing vessel suffered a fouled propeller. Pan pan issued but no

response. AWB tasked to return her under tow to Brixham.

Location of Casualty 50 27.12N 003 30.63W

Service Launched to a 21 foot vessel suffering engine failure approximately 400 yds

off Meadfoot Beach. AWB located vessel quite close to rocks, established a

tow and returned her to Torquay Harbour.

Additional Notes This was the first shout for our refitted lifeboat just over one hour after taking

up service again.

Service Launched to provide additional support in the search for a teenage girl reported

as now swimming away from Paignton Beach in a distraught state. AWB on

scene as ILB located and recovered the teenager.

Service Beam Trawler 'Magdelana' suffered engine failure. The Coastguards issued a

PanPan but no response received. AWB tasked to her assistance. 'Magdelana'

taken in tow and returned to Brixham

Location of Casualty Torbay Pilot Station NE of Berry Head

Service The engineer on board the Turkish freighter 'Nectari' suffered injuries during

ship anchorage operations. Preplanned for pilots to bring vessel into Torbay for

11:30 where lifeboat paramedics would assess and bring him ashore.

Additional Notes Engineer brought ashore and transferred to hospital for checks.

Service Launched to check out report of a windsurfer in difficulty at Paignton - all OK

and proceeded to next shout which was preplanned earlier today

Location of Casualty Princess Pier, Torquay

Service The day of a Great Storm! As the evening high tide approached many people

went to view the waves - a person was reported to have been washed into

the sea at Torquay. AWB launched but person self recovered however AWB

continued to scene in case of another similar event. Police and Coastguards

cleared the problem area and AWB returned.

Additional Notes The tidal surge was around 0.9 metres above predicted due to low pressure

and wind strength.

Service The single handed yacht 'Betwixt' suffered engine failure and was unsure of

position and immediate coastline. The AWB was tasked to her on completion of

the previous shout. She was taken in tow and brought into Brivham.

River Dart entrance. She is 23 metres long. Returned under tow to Brixham.

Service Swimmer at Goodrington in difficulty and rescued by others. Member of the

public raised a 999 call. Casualty recovered quickly to an Ambulance and

launch cancelled as maroons went up!
