Location of Casualty Off Paignton Harbour.

Service See ILB Shout 72 - ALB launched in support of the ILB following a report that the Jet Ski driver

may be unconscious. This was not the case and the ALB was stood down before reaching the

casualty.

Service Launched as part of a search for an 'at risk' missing person thought to be in the area of Daddy

Hole Plain. HM Coastguard and Police Helo in attendance. Person eventually located and

search terminated.

Service The 42 ft Yacht 'Inspiration' suffered engine failure approximately two cables off Brixham

Harbour entrance. She dropped anchor which was not holding in the Force 6/7 Easterly and

heavy swell. Pilot boat stood by whilst ALB launched. Yacht recovered by the ALB and taken

in tow into the Harbour. She was placed alongside the lifeboat pontoon to sort out her engine

problems.

Additional Notes The first launch in anger from the new pontoon system and the first casualty returned to the

pontoon.

Service Launched to check the coastline and beach area of St Mary's Bay for a missing 25 year old on

holiday in the area. He went out for a short walk at 18:30. HM Coastguard and Police Helo all

tasked. Shortly after the search commenced the young man returned to his caravan.

Service ALB launched to evacuate a fisherman from a beam trawler. He had suffered a severed thumb in an

accident on board. Trawler approx 11 miles ESE of Berry Head. Crew GP and Paramedic on board

the lifeboat. Casualty brought ashore by lifeboat to an awaiting ambulance at Haldon Pier, Torquay

Location of Casualty Berry Head

Service Following a third party contact with HM Coastguard reporting that a boat had run aground at

Roundham Head both lifeboats were tasked. However the casualty could not be located. White

flares were launched and the casualty position placed them at Berry Head. Both boats attended

however the casualty vessel was well grounded and the occupants had made it ashore with help

from the Coastguard team. Both boats returned to station.

Location of Casualty Between Brixham and Goodrington

Service Both lifeboats launched as part of a multi unit search for a missing 13 year old girl. Personal

property had been found between Brixham and Elberry Cove prompting the search. Intensive search

of all areas close to shore and inland between Brixham and Goodrington. Young lady arrived home

at 22:30 - search terminated.

Location of Casualty Possibly Between Roundham and Hopes Nose

Service Following mobile phone calls to the emergency services from a male apparently in the sea and

threatening suicide a full scale search was initiated. Both lifeboats, HM Coastguard teams and Helo

VA were all tasked. Very intensive shore line searches carried out. Person concerned was located

in land at 21:30. Search terminated and all units returned to station

Location of Casualty Meadfoot - between East Shag and Thatcher Rock

Service Dive vessel 'Jennifer Ann' lost all power with two divers still in the water. May Day issued and both

the ILB and ALB were tasked. Jennifer Ann managed to get her engine started as the ILB approached

and recovered the two divers who were OK, ALB escorted them back to Torquay Harbour.

Service Beam trawler 'Harmes Johannes' suffered a fire which was brought under control - Salcombe lifeboat

attended initially and Torbay launched to escort her back to Brixham lest any further problems

arose.

Service The dive boat 'Black and Blue' was some twenty miles east of Berry Head when she reported a diver

who had been missing for over one and a half hours. The Coastguards raised a general May

Day. The ALB was launched to join the search. Before arriving on scene the dive boat 'Wave

Chieftain' located and recovered the diver at 16:40. The diver was apparently all OK. The ALB was

released to return to station.

Additional Notes HMS Nottingham acted as OSC (On Scene Commander)
