Our Operational Crew stands at 28. As you will see from the Crew List of names and occupations few are directly involved with the sea as their full time employment. Of necessity the Operational Officers and Crew must live within a short distance of the station.

Station Management with effect 14th October 2006


A Lifeboat Launch (assembling the crew and putting to sea) is, under all normal circumstances, initiated by the Launching Authority (Lifeboat Operations Manager (LOM)  or his Deputy - DLA) following a request from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) - the HM Coastguard. It is the Launching Authority who initiates the Paging System to assemble the crew and formally launch.
