Incident Date 30-Mar-03 Ready for Service Date 30-Mar-03 Launch Instruct 03:35 Ready for Service Time 04:40 Launch Time 03:43 Inshore Life Boat (ILB) 2003 Shout Number 5 Helm Nigel Crang Location of Casualty Paignton Beach and Pier Service Police requested assistance through Coast Guard to locate an apparently 'suicidal' person. ILB and Coast Guard teams tasked. Additional Notes Person located on Paignton Green at 04:20 approx. Helicopter also readied but not used. ======================================================================================= Incident Date 09-Mar-03 Ready for Service Date 09-Mar-03 Launch Instruct 12:35 Ready for Service Time 13:02 Launch Time 12:40 Inshore Life Boat (ILB) 2003 Shout Number 4 Helm Gareth Dallow Location of Casualty 200 metres off Breakwater beach, Brixham Service As with the previous shout two or three divers reported to be in difficulty. ILB launched and returned them to the shore. No problems. Additional Notes Divers under observation by Dive Coordinator on the shore. ================================================================================= Incident Date 09-Mar-03 Ready for Service Date 09-Mar-03 Launch Instruct 11:40 Ready for Service Time 11:50 Launch Time 11:40 Inshore Life Boat (ILB) 2003 Shout Number 3 Helm Gareth Dallow Location of Casualty 200 metres off Breakwater Beach Service Two Divers reported in difficulty. ILB was on exercise at time and made way to recover the divers and return them to shore. No other problems. Additional Notes ILB returned to exercise ================================================================================= Incident Date 17-Feb-03 Ready for Service Date 17-Feb-03 Launch Instruct 14:47 Ready for Service Time 15:15 Launch Time 14:52 Inshore Life Boat (ILB) 2003 Shout Number 2 Helm Nigel Crang Location of Casualty Adjacent Ice Plant, Brixham Harbour Service Man reported to have fallen into the harbour near the Fish Quay Ice Plant. 14:59 Casualty recovered by others and OK subject to medical checks. Additional Notes Bitterly cold day. ======================================================================================= Incident Date 03-Jan-03 Ready for Service Date 03-Jan-03 Launch Instruct 16:15 Ready for Service Time 17:30 Launch Time 16:20 Inshore Life Boat (ILB) 2003 Shout Number 1 Helm Nigel Crang Location of Casualty Roundham Head, Paignton Service Four youths cut off by rising spring tide at Roundham Headland, Paignton. They were trapped in Savage Hole which is blind from the shore - fortunately they were able to raise the alarm by mobile phone. BBC Spotlight arrived for the latter end of the rescue and it featured on TV this evening. Additional Notes Torbay Mobile (Coastguard) assisting from shore. Sea conditions were difficult Force 4/5 NE but the rescue achieved successfully. =======================================================================================
