Service ILB and ALB both launched to assist in the recovery of a cliff faller in the

Beacon Cove area. Both boats worked with Paramedics and Coastguard team

to stabilise and recover the injured person to an awaiting ambulance on

Location of Casualty 1 mile NE Brixham Breakwater

Service Brixham Divers vessel with eleven people on board broke down on there way

back to Brixham. IL tasked and returned them under tow to Brixham Breakwater

slipway.

Location of Casualty Churston Cove

Service Two people were ejected into the sea from a small craft on which the outboard

kept running. One person was injured by the rotating propeller. Both were

recovered from the sea by others whilst the small boat continued racing around

in circles. ILB launched initially to recover the two in the water but were

diverted to stop the boat which they did by deliberately fouling the propeller

Service Launched to a broken down RIB with 5 persons on board just outside the

Brixham Harbour limits. Engine restarted but unreliable - ILB escorted them

back to the Breakwater slipway.

Location of Casualty Meadfoot to Daddy Hole Plain

Service Launched to join search for possible swimmer apparently in difficulty.

Swimmer made it ashore OK unobserved and having observed the extensive

search phoned in to check and report he was OK. Confirmed this was the

swimmer - search stood down at 15:29.

Additional Notes Oscar IV and Herme Clipper searching - ALB tasked at 15:20 together with

Helo Rescue 106.

Location of Casualty Goodrington to Roundham Headland

Service Following a report to HM Coastguard that an inflatable was being blown off

shore with two persons on board the ILB was tasked. As the ILB arrived on

scene the inflatable grounded on rocks and was quickly recovered to shore.

They were meet by the Coastguard shore team and given safety advice!

Service Launched to support other services in recovering a distressed man from the

waters edge. The man was brought to safety by others and the ILB stood down

before reaching the casualty area.

Location of Casualty Off Shoalstone pool (near Breakwater Beach)

Service Launched to check for a diver who had become separated from his buddy and

could not be located. Shortly after launch the diver surfaced and was

identified as the missing person. ILB returned to station.

Location of Casualty 0.5 mile East of Redcliffe Headland

Service Launched following a report from the Beach Manager of a wind surfer possibly

in difficulty off Preston Sands. Apparently he has been down for some time

and drifting out to sea. Wind surfer returned to the beach by the ILB after

repairs to board failed - all OK.

Additional Notes Second wind surfer checked OK whilst on passage.

Location of Casualty Brixham Harbour Fairway

Service ILB returning from providing Safety Cover for the trawler race obseved a RIB

with no one on board but its engine running. It was moored to another vessel -

neither had any one onboard. Search of waters in the area carried out whilst

owner located by Harbour Authorities. No one found to be in trouble. ILB

returned to station

Location of Casualty Approach to Brixham Roads

Service Trawler Race Day - ILB at sea providing safety cover. The Trawler

'Korenbloem' reported a Man Overboard. He was immediately recovered by a

newrby RIB - ILB responded and the casualty was placed in the ILB before

being transferred to the ALB. ILB returned to Safety Cover

Service Launched to stand off whilst negotiations proceeded with a suicidal young lady

on Haldon Pier, Torquay. Situation resolved quickly and ILB stood down whilst

on passage.

Location of Casualty One Mile East of Goodrington

Service The local pleasure boat Riviera Princess came across a windsurfer unable to

recover himself due to the squally conditions. The ILB having just recovered

from the previous shout was relaunched. The casualty was recovered to Oscar

IV - Council Patrol Boat - and taken to Paignton Harbour. ILB returned to station.

Location of Casualty Corbyn Head

Service HM Coastguards received report of four children cut off by the tide near a cave

on Corbyn Head, Torquay. ILB tasked to recover them to the local beach and

awaiting Coastguard team. On approach a further two children to the South of

the headland were identified. They were all transferred to the beach in two

trips - cold but all OK

Location of Casualty Churston Point

Service Both lifeboats launched following a report that a small fishing boat with one

person on board had crashed into the rocks at Churston Point. The person on

board was thrown into the sea and suffered some injuries on the rocks.

Ambulance crews also attended. Casualty taken to hospital for checks.

Location of Casualty South Side Roundham Headland

Service Recover five young girls (12/13 years old) cut off by the high tide. They were

safely returned to Paignton Harbour.

Additional Notes Another five girls were also recovered from the North Side of Roundham

Headland by 'Oscar 4'
