pile of wet clothes were found. Members of the public claimed they

observed two
teenagers enter the sea but had not seen them return. |

Shore searches revealed nothing. ILB search also found nothing of

|
significance.

was apparently preparing to 'Tombstone' into the sea at Peak Tor

when she apparently slipped and fell 20ft to the rocks below. |

She suffered a
major compound fracture and severe grazing to the legs. The ILB |

was tasked to
carry out a medical evacuation by stretcher from the beach to |
|
Torquay Harbour
once she had been stabilised by Ambulance paramedics. |

Tombstoning is
dangerous! She was transferred to Torbay Hospital A&E. |

Launched to
search for a wind surfer who apparently went missing whilst out with |
|
another in
Torbay at around 13:30. The first report came from the companion
|
|
wind surfer when
he got ashore. The search involved all SAR Assets in the area. |
|
The wind was
generally SW7 Gusting 9 reducing surface visibility. His surf board
|
|
was found
blowing out of Torbay unoccupied. He was located at 17:01 following
|
|
a sighting from
the shore approximately half a mile from shore near Holicombe |
|
having swum a
considerable distance back towards shore. He was exhausted |
|
and unable to
swim. Torbay Lifeboats recovered him before Helo transfer to |
|
Torbay Hospital.
A 'good job' by all concerned. |

and Exmouth lifeboats joined the search together with Rescue 163
|
|
from Culdrose
and the Coastguard Shore teams. |
